I am a Research Associate and Lecturer at the Department of Intercultural Studies and Business Communications (Intercultural Human Resource and Organizational Development) at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena. I hold a PhD (Dr. rer. pol.) in Economics from the Friedrich Schiller University Jena and the International Max Planck Research School on Adapting Behavior in a Fundamentally Uncertain World (“IMPRS Uncertainty”).

In my PhD research, I explored participative pricing mechanisms, such as Pay-What-You-Want. I am fascinated by this innovative pricing mechanism, in which people pay voluntary amounts – even if they don’t have to. In particular, I investigated which circumstances trigger the voluntary payment decision. In 2017 I conducted a research stay at the University of Gothenburg (Sweden).
I work highly interdisciplinary and have been trained as Media Scientist, Psychologist and Philosopher. I finished my degree as Magistra Artium in 2011 at the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena. My Magister thesis “Zahl doch einfach, was du willst! Warum sich Pay-What-You-Want für deutsche Kinos lohnt” has been published by the TECTUM Verlag (ISBN 978-3-8288-3799-7
). During my studies I spent one semester abroad at the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane (Australia). There I gained knowledge about business development in creative industries and practical knowledge in film and television production (including actual filming and editing with AVID Media Composer).
Before starting my PhD, I worked as Management Assistant of the Commercial Management (Executive Board) (2013-2015) and as Management Trainee at the Mediengruppe Thüringen (2011-2013). I conducted market research, was project manager of the Thuringian student newspaper “Lemma”, participated in the organizational and leadership development of the publishing house and was responsible for internal corporate communication.
Additionally to my scientific and professional experience, I am engaging and have been engaged voluntarily in various institutions. Currently, I am active as data scientist at CorrelAid. Until September 2020 I was the elected PhD Representative of the Board of the Graduate Academy at the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena. Prior to that I acted as Liason Alumna of the Foundation of German Business, as Editor in Chief of the Thuringian student newspaper “Lemma” and as Co-Founder of the Network for Youth Environmental Education Thuringia (Netzwerk für JugendUmweltBildung Thüringen “JUBiTh”).
Moreover, I am highly interested in the topic of entrepreneurship from various perspectives. I am the winner of the Young Entrepreneurs in Science Pitch Competition Jena 2018 (organized by Falling Walls Foundation). As Alumna of the Foundation of German Business (Stiftung der Deutschen Wirtschaft (sdw)) I am engaged in the topic of entrepreneurship since more than 14 years and have a broad network to innovative companies, Start-Ups, researchers and institutions in the field of entrepreneurship & innovation.
Furthermore I am a passionate sketchnoter and musician, playing piano, guitar, electronic bass and sing.
